Summary:

As an exorcist, David Aronowitz grew up the target of demonic assassins. Now he’s a member of the Execution Underground and hellspawn everywhere fear his name. But when a demon slips into the seductive body of the only woman he’s ever loved, David must confront the heartbreak of their past to save her.  The piece of her heart Allsún O’Hare gave to David so long ago left her trapped between two worlds: the Fae and the human.  And when David comes to her rescue, fate reunites her with her greatest temptation—and her biggest mistake.  Now, as they’re swept together into a wicked game with the demon who controls her, David must decide if saving Allsún’s life is worth sacrificing his own—and the future of humanity itself.

Review:

I found this book one day whilst browsing Netgalley, I actually received this book as an arc at the time, unfortunately this review is coming to you after the release.

The blurb instantly caught my attention, this genre is one my favourites, so I knew I wanted to read it.

The story is told from two sides, David's and Allsún's.  However we also get an outlook into a few of the other characters lives.  Brilliantly written by the author.  So descriptive, you get to know the characters so easily and find yourself falling into the world in which they live.  A world of action, pain, romance and a few tears, makes for an overall enjoyable read.  I found all the murder scenes they were investigating were written well.  If your a supernatural fan, you will find the details from the demons to the demon hunters, all blend well together and make it very easy to picture the scenes. No page left me disappointed, only wanting more.

I didn't realise at the time that this is the 2nd book.  From what I read description wise of the first book, its not a must read in order.  It seems to be based on one of the other characters in this book and their story, also giving you an insight/introduction to other characters lives also.  No doubt it is another must read, another added to my 'To Read' List.  I highly recommend you getting this book to read.  A great story for all lovers of the supernatural genre.  And if its your first time reading this genre and wanting to try something new, this is the book for you.  You won't be disappointed!

Congratulations to Kait Ballenger, may you have many future successes!
