Synopsis

Stay away from the window, don’t go outside when it’s storming and whatever you do, do not touch the orb.

Twelve-year-old Joshua Cooper’s grandpa has always warned him about the dangers of lightning. But Joshua never put much stock in his grandpa’s rumblings as anything more than the ravings of an old man with a vast imagination. Then one night, when Joshua and his best friend are home alone during a frightful storm, Joshua learns his grandpa was right. A bolt of lightning strikes his house and whisks away his best friend—possibly forever.

To get him back, Joshua must travel the Lightning Road to a dark place that steals children for energy. But getting back home and saving his friend won’t be easy, as Joshua must face the terrifying Child Collector and fend off ferocious and unnatural beasts intent on destroying him.

In this world, Joshua possesses powers he never knew he had, and soon, Joshua’s mission becomes more than a search for his friend. He means to send all the stolen children home—and doing so becomes the battle of his life.

ABOUT DONNA GALANTI:

Donna is the author of the Joshua and The Lightning Road series and the Element Trilogy. She is a contributing editor to International Thriller Writers the Big Thrill magazine and blogs at www.project-middle-grade-mayhem.blogs..., a cooperative of published middle grade authors. She attended an English school housed in a magical castle, where her wild imagination was held back only by her itchy uniform (bowler hat and tie included!). There she fell in love with the worlds of C.S. Lewis and Roald Dahl, and wrote her first fantasy about Dodo birds, wizards, and a flying ship (and has been writing fantasy ever since). She’s lived in other exotic locations, including her family-owned campground in New Hampshire and in Hawaii where she served as a U.S. Navy photographer. She now lives with her family and two crazy cats in an old farmhouse and dreams of returning one day to a castle.

Release Date: May 2015
ISBN: 978-0-9946641-2-9

A sand that has the power to send anyone it touches into a deep, sound sleep.

Fearing she had lost her mind, Chasity soon discovers the shocking truth of her heritage- she is a Dream Caster. Chasity was never supposed to be raised on the Domain, or what humans call Earth and she is determined to return to her true birth place, Revera – the world of Dreams.
However, in Revera there is no balance between good, the Light Casters, and darkness, the Shadow Casters, and Chasity is caught square in the middle. She soon learns that there is no place for anyone containing both the light and the darkness within them, and the shocking truth that if anyone in Revera ever discovered her shadow self, Chasity would be thrown into the Oblivion – the world of Nightmares.

Author Bio

Adrienne Woods was born and raised in South Africa, where she still lives with her husband and two beautiful little girls. She always knew she was going to be a writer, but it only started to really happen about four years ago. In her free time―if she gets any because moms don’t really have free time―she loves to spend it with friends, whether it’s a girls night out, or just watching a movie. She’s a very chilled person. Her writing career started with Firebolt, book one in the Dragonian series. There will be four books in total, including a further two to three books, which will be stories that take place within the Dragonian series. Her other series, Dream Casters, will be released mid 2015. She also writes in different genres, and her woman’s fiction, The Pregnancy Diaries, will be published under a pseudonym. And then, she has a paranormal series by the name of the Aswang series, which will consist of about ten novels. And if that wasn’t enough, there is another series, Guardians of Monsters, which will be released in 2016.

Viper Game by Christine Feehan - Review by Kimmy

Well hi there,

How have you all been?

I have been good.  Working away.  I'm off this week on holidays though.  Spending time with my recuperating husband.  I did plan to read...alot....well lets say that isn't going to plan at the moment lol.  Anywho, here is my latest review.  I do hope you enjoy!

Viper Game by Christine Feehan

*** Disclaimer ***
I received a free copy through (add info here) in exchange for an honest review.

Rating:

Synopsis:

GhostWalker Wyatt Fontenot knows the price he paid for the secret military experiments that gave him his special catlike abilities. After all, he left his home a healer and came back a killer. While Wyatt and his GhostWalker brother Gator may have known exactly the sort of game they were getting into, Wyatt never anticipated where it would lead - or to whom.

The swamps hold many mysteries, but few are as sinuously seductive as Le Poivre de Cayenne. The woman the locals call Pepper is every bit as enigmatic as the three little girls she's desperately trying to protect. From what, Wyatt is soon to discover. Right now Pepper needs a man like Wyatt. Passionately. But her secrets are about to take them both deeper into the bayou than either imagined-where desire is the deadliest poison of all.

Review

Christine Feehan is a new author to me.  The lovely Poppy from Little Brown Books approached me before the end of 2014, offering me the opportunity to read and review this book.  I loved the mysterious cover and the sound of the synopsis, after accepting, Poppy kindly sent me a copy to review before todays release date.

Reading this book, I didn't feel like I needed to have read any of the other series.  Although now I do want to read the rest to get to know more about the other characters mentioned throughout the book, in particular Wyatt's brother Gator.  I would have loved to have seen him in this book.  Anyways, yet more books added to my TBR lol.

I found the authors writing style enjoyable.  Christine creates an amazing world full of unique interesting characters.  Each character so detailed, you find yourself easily picturing and connecting with them.  The relationship between Wyatt, his brothers and Nonny is wonderful and I absolutely loved the little girls.  A story filled with suspense, danger, a lot of passion and much more.

Unfortunately for me, there was a little bit too much passion.  I found myself skimming quickly over it at times as I do feel it did have an impact on the pace of the story and took away from the plot.  Hence my rating.

My rating was also affected by Peppers numerous moments of insecurities.  Every woman has them.  However Pepper sometimes got a little carried away with hers.  Frequent eye rolling moments from me.  Sometimes I just wanted to grab her, give her a slap and say "Get over yourself woman and look at the bigger picture!"

However saying that, Pepper and Wyatt's relationship was intense.  They are connected on so many levels through everything they have been through.  Remove some of the foreplay etc and add in something deeper and it would have made a more enjoyable read for me.

Don't get me wrong, I did enjoy this book and I would have enjoyed it more if there wasn't so much sex.  I do recommend you give it a read however.  I'm sure you will enjoy it also.

Excerpt from FRAGILE REIGN

Rowan
After Marcus left, the lack of sleep and overuse of my power had finally caught up to me. My lids were heavy, making it hard to keep my eyes open. I laid down on the nearest bed, sinking into the softness of the vanilla scented pillows. I could rest here until tomorrow, and then meet Kalin on the beach at sundown. As I closed my eyes, I imagined her in that sexy sundress with the ocean breeze wafting through her red curls. My lips tingled remembering the raspberry taste of her kisses. With all this craziness going on, she was the one thing that made sense. The only person who could make me forget about everything for a little while. Kalin was the one I wanted. The only one I needed. I shook my head. What was wrong with me? It was too soon to be thinking about this stuff, right? It had only been a few weeks. And what did I know about real feelings, anyway? Had it not been for Marcus, I would never even know what it felt like to care for someone. Love was never part of my life. My mother thought love was a weakness—a totally worthless emotion compared to power and control. But that still didn’t explain how I was feeling. Why everything seemed better when Kalin was around. Why my fingers ached to touch her. Why her pain shattered me to the core. I put my hands over my face. Or, maybe the lack of sleep was making me delusional. With a smirk, I gave in to the darkness that was overwhelming me and fell asleep.
